Dr. Numb Topical Anesthetic is a topical anesthetic numbing cream that contains 5% Lidocaine. It's the only water-based numbing cream on the market. It works by blocking the pain signal sent by the nerve endings on the skin. When applied to the affected area, a feeling of numbness follows after 20-30 seconds. This cream can be used for all types of procedures including botox, immunizations, microdermabrasion, minor surgery, piercing, tattoos and more. I had the opportunity to receive this cream in return for my unbiased review. This is a very effective numbing cream. I used a small amount on an insect bite. As the directions stated, it took about 20-30 seconds to start feeling anything. After those 20-30 seconds, my skin gradually started to feel numb. It took the stinging away and lasted for over 3 hours. This cream worked really well. It can be used for minor irritations and abrasions but is not recommended for open wounds or major cuts.
